Olin Duncan
How Much Worse Can It Get?
after Bob Marley
Being watched, ridiculed;
By the people you thought were friends,
But backstabbers and bullies all along;
You feel deep down inside that they remain friends,
Although that ship had sailed a long time ago;
Playing along felt right, but I was feeding my own criticism.
Every little thing, is gonna be alright
The days passed, the bullying did not go with it;
"Take a stand, Olin. Take a stand..."
The fear coursing through my veins,
The fear of not being popular;
Finally, I confronted my fears,
Made my "friends" see how badly they had treated me,
How much damage they had done to me;
And how much sadness and depression they had caused me.
Every little thing, is gonna be alright
The pure relief washed over me,
The pure relief of confronting my inner-demons;
And then I left;
I left the only home I knew,
To the beautiful state of California,
For a fresh, new start...
Every little thing, is gonna be alright
A Little Bit of This and a Pinch of That
Take intelligence, charisma, and caring
Lay them onto a chopping board
Dice and dice until ingredients are small
Throw them into a particularly large bowl
Toss until well mixed together
While tossing the ingredients
Add a pinch of humor
And a handful of weird laughter
As well as beautiful, thick, blonde hair
And just keep mixing the items
Sautee the flavorful ingredients
Until lightly charred on the faces of the items
Keep the ingredients moving in the pan
Preferably with a spatula
While doing this stirring motion
Slowly pour a small amount of olive oil
And sprinkle sea salt and pepper
Over the sizzling components
While the ingredients simmer
Cook Carne Asada until dark brown
And a distinctly rough texture
Slice into tremendously thin strips
Throw into the mixed ingredients
Also add a mouth, eyes, and ears
Feet, hands, legs, and arms too
Then bake for about 9 months
Until the dish is crying
Then take the dish out of the oven
And serve to a new family
The Duncan Family
Waiting with open arms for the dish
